A pop quartet from Rotterdam, in the same vein as Abba stylistically, scored big hits penned by Wally Tax. Members: Jan Vredenburg (ex-Johnny Kendall Machine), Bert v.d. Wiel (ex-Ander & Half, Actions, Tiepies, and Soul Serenade), Trudie Huysdens (ex-Flashback and Groupies Delite), Paulette Bronkhorst (ex-Johnny Kendall Machine and Spanish Fly). Paulette left the group in 1981 to form the duo Chica, with Leida Sabee (ex-Kids & Cats). Then Champagne fell apart. Jan went on to Shampoo.
