Paul Brett had been a guitarist with Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera. He was later in Fire with future Strawbs member Dave Lambert. Later in 1970 he formed Paul Brett's Sage with former Fire members Dick Dufall and Bob Voice. After three reasonable rock albums with this outfit he went solo. "Phoenix Future" was a privately-pressed effort, just 500 copies were issued, but it's yet to interest collectors much. He also recorded a library-only album, "Music Manifold" (R2), during the seventies.
