Surinamese vocalist Oscar Harris began in 1965 by performing with the Twinkle Stars, the group in which Billy Jones was another vocalist. After a number of hits, Oscar left them in 1973 in order to go solo. Not only did he make records as a solo artist, but he also recorded singles with Ivy Keizersweerd and a certain Patty (with whom he went to Austria in 1976 for a song festival).
