METEORS

The Meteors were formed in 1977 by Hugo "Sinzheimer" Postma (v, ex-Snake) and ex-Alquin members Job Tarenskeen (dr, in 1979 replaced by Kim Haworth, ex-Houseband) and Ferdinand Bakker (g). Furthermore: Erik de Zwaan (g, until 1979, ex-Herman Brood, to Subway), Jan Vorster (b, ex-Da Capo, in 1979 to Oh Boy and replaced by Gert Veen, ex-Plant, to A.A. & Doktors, in 1980 succeeded by Dick Schulte, ex-Transister) and Ake Danielson (o,p, ex-Storm, to Innersleeve). The Meteors specialised in the brand of rock music that was not unlike Herman Brood & His Wild Romance. In 1982, they went their separate ways.

PHONEY & HARDCORE

Rock band from Groningen in the style of Herman Brood; recorded compositions of Hardcore's leader Erik Strack. Line-up: Erik Strack (v, g, ex-Snake), Biem Visser (o,p, ex-Green Apple), Lou Leeuw (b, ex-Nina Hagen, replaced Tom v.d. Schoot in 1979, who, in turn, replaced Wim v.d. Boom, ex-Snake), Kees Alkema (dr, ex-Rocking Tigers, replaced Vince Lynch in 1979) and Erik de Zwaan (g, ex-Subway, replaced Bernard Reinke in 1980, ex-Harry Muskee, who was replacing Ilja Camping in 1978). Bernard went to Sentic. 1981 line-up: Erik (v), Lou (b), Jack Hazebroek (dr, ex-Jenner Band) and Erik de Zwaan (g).

SNAKE

Snake were formed in 1977 in Groningen by members of Little Beaver. They released no records, but did have an interesting line-up nevertheless: Leo Dorcas (g), Hugo Sinzheimer (v, to Meteors), Gus Laporte (b, ex-Oscar Benton, to Barrelhouse), Wally van de Reyd (dr, to Phoney & Hardcore) and Erik Strack from Schijndel (g, also to Phoney & Hardcore).
