Just like the Buffoons, the First Move came from Enschede. Both groups presumably inspired each other, playing "soft beat" type music. Before 1966, the band was simply called Move, but they obviously had to change their name! Members included: Carel Swagerman (v, later to Husky), Toon Hebinck (b,g,v), Ben Kamphuis (g,fl), Hans Kamphuis (g,h), Bert Goossen (dr) and Sjoerd Schuitemakers (p). In 1974, Toon and Bert turned up in Verneukeratief Orkest.

The core of the group Husky from 't Gooi had already been together since 1965. But they did not record before Martin Duiser joined in as the lead singer in 1971. He was replaced in 1972 by Carel Swagerman (ex-First Move, later solo as Carlson) who, in turn, himself was replaced in 1976 by Loek Halverstadt (ex-St. Louis Set). The rest of the group during their peak period included: Antony Happe (dr), Hennie Happe (v,g), Albert Loth (b, ex-Blackbirds) and Bart Panamanang (v,o,p, ex-Allondee & Gates of Eden). They also did accompanying work for Wally Tax and Robert Long.
