In 1966, a group called Eddy Nelson & Eddysons was formed in Rotterdam. After a few hits on Havoc, Eddy Ouwens left the group to work as a producer. He produced Teach-In, Bolland & Bolland and The Shoes. He also made records as Eddy Owens and Danny Mirror. The other Eddysons were Fred de Groot (dr), Hans Schotel (b), Martin Achterberg (v,g,o) and Kees de Blois (g,v,s, solo by the name of Larry Cotton). Also, Ed van de Bent and Ludwig Smit (both ex-Midnight Packet and later in Justice and Cosmic Dealer) were part of the group for a short period of time around 1969. When Eddy Owens left the group in 1969, the name was changed into respectively: Purple Pillow (1969-1970), Jumbo (1970-1973) and Circus (1973-1977). Kees de Blois was in Cosmic Dealer in 1973/74; Kees and Martin later formed The Hudsons.
